Racism
Racism was something that was happening throughout the book. It was heavily focused on with Tom Robinson because there would be no trail if he was white. This shows how people are being treated by the color of their skin. This is important because that is against the rights of the citizens because they are all equal no matter how they look. Social Acceptations
Many people want to fit in with others so they wont be made fun of or picked on. One example from To Kill A Mockingbird was Mr. Dolphus Raymond because he had a sack of Coco-Cola in a paper bag to make it look like it is Alcohol. He even accepted that he did so he will get accepted by the other. Example in real life is when someone is talented in something but that will make him/her different. So he/she will suppress his/her talent to blend in. Just like that we lost someone who could have changed the world.
Social Exceptions -
Scout faced a lot of exceptions of being a women and she didn't want to do all that. She wanted to to live a life where she can do what she wants and not what other want for her. This is just one example in the book but it could happen anywhere. With technology people want to make it look like they have a perfect life .So then other want that to so they want to live in someone else shoe. So they have to learn to man up an grow into their own shoes. |
