When did it take place in real life? How did it affect the novel?
The novel To Kill A Mockingbird took place in 1933–1935 and in Alabama. During this time there was segregation and the great depression. Segregation was an important factor in the novel because this shows how there would prejudice against white and black. Also there was there was The Great Depression which was important because this shows how desperate the people are in the town. So they would do anything even though it is against their ethics.
